Sherwood Park at a Glance

Sherwood Park (or the Park as it is known locally) is on the southeast tip of the city of Edmonton, around 3 kilometres from the city boundary.  The proximity to Edmonton makes it a very popular place for people who want to work in the city but want to get away from the city life after work. It's actually the 7th largest municipality in the province, but according to the government is still registered as a hamlet.  This quirk gives Sherwood Park the distinction of being the planet's largest hamlet according to the world record book.

Known primarily as a residential city, the Park has all sorts of amenities that you would find in another other suburb of a city the size of Edmonton.  The Centre in the Park is the jewel of the city, and offers a great view of the overall beauty of the area.  Residents can use it for mulitple recreation activities in both summer and winter.  The city is also the home of Festival Place, a high end facility for entertainment that is host to many cultural events over the course of any given year.
